Fit for one, and big enough for two, the second floor, Algonquin bedroom features a queen size bed with luxurious, plush mattress topper, shared bath, closet, writing desk and views of the Library, river and village out three large windows.  Whether you’re a couple or creating solo, the Algonquin is where you can live it up while you work it out.

The Wilde - Secondary Bedroom

Residents rave about the full, hybrid memory foam/spring mattress. Enjoy a great night’s rest in the Wilde bedroom, (a mirror footprint to the Algonquin), and focused work during the day at a large work desk and upholstered chair. With its unexpected pairing of Victorian and Bauhaus accents, the Algonquin room is a resident favorite; shared bath, large bureau; great for acoustic instrument practice for composers, this room enjoys unique privacy sharing no walls, ceilings or floors with any other bedroom in the residence.

Vincent - Mansard Attic Room

Discover Victorian-farmhouse-cozy in the finely appointed Vincent room on the top floor of the residence. Rich, cocoon-like tones cradle your creativity. Vincent (as Edna St. Vincent Millay’s friends called her) affords commanding views of the Hudson river, Village and Library next door. To be filed under: “they don’t make ‘em like they used to,” this charming 130 year-old room features original, wide-plank Hemlock floors dressed in a natural jute rug. The room also offers a great night’s sleep in a carved, solid wood antique bed outfitted with the raved-about, full-size hybrid memory-foam/spring mattress, with real down duvet and 100% linen cover and shams. Completing the room is a solid oak desk and upholstered chair.

Named for queer, black author and activist, James Baldwin, this room is the latest addition to our portfolio of live-work spaces at Hudson Valley Writers Residency in the Pratt-Phibbs wing on the 3rd floor of the Residence. An extra comfy, extra large twin Casper brand mattress, genuine Persian rugs, antique desk, bureau and lush curtains make this room feel like a jewel box. Come install yourself for a stint and complete your project surrounded by beauty.
